Chandramani Shukla death threat
Chandramani Shukla, father of deceased BJP leader Maneesh Shukla, has alleged that he was threatened with death through phone calls and WhatsApp. According to Chandramani, the threats began after he held a press conference against Kaustav Bagchi. He has filed a complaint at Kharदah police station and said he informed the BJP’s top leadership about the matter.
Chandramani has alleged that the caller introduced himself as ‘Arvind Pal’. He claimed that the person contacted him through an internet call and WhatsApp from Germany. Chandramani said the messages accused him of doing politics over his son’s body. He also alleged that he was threatened with being killed if he remained with party leader Santosh Singh.
Chandramani has claimed that the threat was not issued by anyone in Germany but by a local criminal. Kaustav Bagchi had recently held a press conference after Uttam Das and Prashant Chowdhury were seen on a BJP stage. Chandramani said he later held a press conference in response, following which the threats began.
Maneesh Shukla was shot dead in front of the BJP office in Titagarh in 2020. A report said the investigation had indicated that he was allegedly killed through contract killers. The names of Uttam Das and Prashant Chowdhury were also mentioned in connection with the case, according to the report. Bagchi had alleged that no action was taken against Uttam and Prashant because they were with the ruling camp.
Chandramani has approached Kharदah police station over the alleged threats received through phone calls and WhatsApp. He has also said that he brought the matter to the attention of the BJP leadership.
