Mumbai Police say people arrested in the Tiger Shroff firing case told investigators that gang members had surveilled the homes of Bollywood celebrities before the attack. Police said Salman Khan was the gang’s original target, but the plan was abandoned after reconnaissance around his residence because of tight security.

Attack on Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu

The shooting took place on the evening of October 18 in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to the police, two men opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car, firing five to six rounds before fleeing on a motorcycle. Shroff escaped relatively unhurt, while his driver and a bystander were injured.

Police said the accused allegedly chose Shroff because he was considered more accessible and did not have heavy security. Investigators said the conspiracy was intended to create fear within Bollywood and target a major star.

Reconnaissance near celebrity residences

Police said the accused allegedly conducted reconnaissance near Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments and Aamir Khan’s residence in Bandra. The homes of Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar were also reportedly surveyed.

According to police, operatives linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang stayed near Aamir Khan’s Bandra residence for about a month and conducted reconnaissance on three occasions. Sources said Salman Khan was dropped as a target after the security around Galaxy Apartments was assessed.

Eleven arrested as police examine audio clip

Eleven people have been arrested from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana, police said. Gangster Anil Pandit has been named a wanted accused after he allegedly claimed responsibility for the firing in a social media post, according to police.

Police are also investigating a viral audio clip and a social media post attributed to Arzoo Bishnoi and Tyson Bishnoi. Their alleged links to the case, along with the authenticity of the material, are being examined.
