Meta Muse Spark 1.1
Cloud TV Technology Desk Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has returned to X (formerly Twitter) for the first time in more than three years to announce the launch of Muse Spark 1.1, the company’s latest artificial intelligence model. The move marks a significant shift in Meta’s AI strategy as it expands beyond open-source models into the competitive enterprise AI market.
In a series of posts on X, Zuckerberg introduced Muse Spark 1.1 as a powerful agentic AI and coding model designed for developers and businesses. Alongside the announcement, Meta also launched a public preview of the Meta Model API, giving developers access to build applications using the new AI model.
Muse Spark 1.1 is designed to handle advanced coding tasks, software automation, tool usage and complex workflows. According to Meta, the model supports long-running tasks with a context window of up to one million tokens and can coordinate multiple AI agents working simultaneously to complete sophisticated operations.
The launch signals Meta’s stronger push into enterprise AI, where it will compete directly with leading AI companies including OpenAI and Anthropic. Unlike Meta’s earlier emphasis on freely available open-source AI models, Muse Spark 1.1 is being offered through a commercial API with usage-based pricing for developers.
Zuckerberg had largely stayed away from posting on X since July 2023, making this his first activity on the platform in over three years. His return attracted widespread attention across the technology industry, highlighting the importance Meta places on its latest AI initiative.
The announcement also drew a response from X owner Elon Musk, who praised the platform as an effective place for CEOs to launch major products, noting the enormous engagement Zuckerberg’s post received.
Meta says Muse Spark 1.1 focuses on coding, agentic reasoning, software automation and multimodal capabilities while offering competitive pricing to attract developers. Industry analysts believe the launch could intensify competition in the rapidly growing AI developer tools market, where companies are racing to provide faster, smarter and more affordable AI models.
The release comes amid an increasingly competitive AI landscape, with Meta seeking to strengthen its position against rivals by combining advanced AI capabilities with lower costs and broader developer access.
