Cloud TV Sports Desk: Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri has put an end to speculation surrounding his future by signing a contract extension with Bengaluru FC until 2027.
The Indian Super League (ISL) club officially announced the extension on its social media platforms on Sunday evening, delighting fans who were eager to know whether the veteran striker would continue with the club or seek a new challenge elsewhere.
In recent weeks, reports had suggested that Chhetri could leave Bengaluru FC and join another club. However, those rumours have now been laid to rest with the announcement of his new deal.
The 40-year-old forward remains committed to the club where he has spent the majority of his professional career and achieved some of his greatest successes.
Speaking after signing the new contract, Chhetri expressed his emotional connection with the club.
“I have spent most of my career at this club. If there was ever going to be a new contract, it was always going to be here. I can’t wait for the new season to begin and I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch.”
His statement reflects the strong bond he shares with Bengaluru FC, where he has become one of the club’s greatest icons.
Former ISL champions Bengaluru FC finished fourth in the previous season and will be aiming to challenge for the title in the upcoming campaign.
