Cloud TV Sports Desk: Brazil star Neymar stole the spotlight after his team’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Japan in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32, despite not playing a single minute. Following Brazil’s comeback win, Neymar took to social media to mock German economist Joachim Klement, whose statistical model had predicted Japan would eliminate the five-time world champions.

Klement, known for correctly predicting the winners of the last three FIFA World Cups, had forecast a shock victory for Japan. After Brazil advanced, Neymar posted on X: “Mr Joachim Klement… please try again at the next World Cup,” accompanied by a wink emoji. The post quickly went viral among football fans.

Brazil recovered from an early setback after Kaishu Sano gave Japan the lead. Casemiro equalised in the second half before Gabriel Martinelli scored a dramatic 95th-minute winner to seal a 2-1 victory and send Brazil into the Round of 16.

Although Neymar remained on the bench throughout the match, head coach Carlo Ancelotti explained that he had planned to use the forward only if the game went into extra time. Brazil’s late winner meant that substitution was never required.

Neymar’s humorous response and Brazil’s thrilling comeback have become two of the biggest talking points of the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout stage.
