Brazil Kolkata Friendly
Cloud TV Sports Desk: Football fans in India may soon witness a historic spectacle. Five-time FIFA World Cup champions Brazil are reportedly considering playing an international friendly in Kolkata during the October FIFA international window. While the proposal has not yet been officially confirmed, discussions between organisers and stakeholders are understood to be progressing positively.
Kolkata, widely regarded as the football capital of India, has emerged as the preferred venue for the proposed match.
The iconic Salt Lake Stadium (Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan), one of Asia’s largest football venues, is expected to host the fixture if the agreement is finalised. The identity of Brazil’s opponent has not yet been revealed.
Brazil’s visit would represent one of the biggest international football events ever organised in India.
The city has previously welcomed global legends including Pelé, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and Emiliano Martínez. Hosting the entire Brazilian national team would further strengthen Kolkata’s reputation as one of Asia’s most passionate football destinations.
Despite growing excitement, no official announcement has yet been made by the Brazilian Football Confederation or the organisers.
Reports indicate that negotiations remain ongoing, and the proposed October international window is being targeted for the fixture. Football fans across India are eagerly awaiting confirmation, hoping to witness the Seleção in action on Indian soil.
