Cloud TV Sports Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo is set to begin a new chapter beyond football by joining the upcoming British television drama series ‘Day Ones’ as an executive producer and special on-screen guest.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will work alongside Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry on the project, marking Ronaldo’s latest venture into the entertainment industry.
As his legendary playing career approaches its final years, Ronaldo continues to expand his business and media interests.
Speaking about the project, Ronaldo said:
“This is an exciting new chapter for me. I’m looking forward to the new opportunities that lie ahead.”
His involvement in Day Ones reflects his ambition to build a presence beyond the football pitch.
The series is being developed with acclaimed Hollywood filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, best known for directing the Kingsman franchise.
Earlier this year, Ronaldo and Vaughn co-founded UR-Marv Studios, strengthening their partnership in film and television production.
Vaughn praised the Portuguese superstar, saying:
“Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written. I can’t wait to create inspiring film and television stories with him.”
According to British newspaper The Sun, Day Ones will present a realistic portrayal of British football, focusing on the intense competition, business, dressing-room dynamics and behind-the-scenes stories of the sport.
Unlike the light-hearted football comedy Ted Lasso, the new series aims to offer a more authentic and dramatic look at professional football. Filming has already begun at Barnet FC’s stadium in England.
