Cloud TV Desk: Panic gripped a busy street in Paris after a man armed with two kitchen knives allegedly attacked three women, including a pregnant woman, in broad daylight. The incident took place near Porte de Clichy in the French capital, where quick action by bystanders and an off-duty police officer helped prevent further casualties.

Three Women Targeted in Broad Daylight

According to French authorities, the attacker stabbed three women aged 19, 24 and 36. Among the victims was a pregnant woman. Two of the women sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital, while the third suffered less severe wounds. Emergency services responded immediately and secured the area.

Bystanders and Off-Duty Police Officer Overpowered the Suspect

Eyewitnesses said the suspect continued chasing victims until members of the public intervened. One passer-by reportedly threw a suitcase at the attacker, while another used a chair to help stop him. An off-duty police officer then detained the suspect before additional officers arrived at the scene. French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez praised the courage of the civilians and the officer involved.

Authorities Investigating Motive Behind the Attack

Witnesses claimed the suspect shouted that “Allah commanded me” during the attack. However, French authorities cautioned against drawing conclusions, saying the man appeared to make incoherent statements after his arrest. The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office is assessing whether the case warrants a formal terrorism investigation, while police continue to examine all possible motives.

The suspect reportedly provided investigators with a false identity following his arrest. Officials are working to establish his background and determine whether the attack was motivated by terrorism, mental health issues, or other factors.

French authorities have assured the public that the situation is under control, while the victims continue to receive medical treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
