World Cup memorabilia auction
Cloud TV Sports Desk: Football fans and collectors will soon have the opportunity to own a piece of World Cup history. New York-based auction house Christie’s has announced a special online auction featuring the 2026 FIFA World Cup final match ball, Shakira’s performance outfits, Lionel Messi’s signed jersey, and several other iconic football memorabilia.
The online auction will begin on July 22 and run for one week. The collection includes some of the most memorable items associated with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Christie’s expects significant global interest from football supporters and collectors.
One of the highlights of the auction will be the yellow crop top and trousers worn by Colombian pop superstar Shakira in the music video for the tournament’s official song, “Dai Dai.”
Also going under the hammer is the outfit Shakira will wear during the FIFA World Cup Final halftime show, where she is scheduled to perform alongside Madonna, Justin Bieber, and BTS.
Collectors will also be able to bid on the official match ball used in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as well as the ball from the tournament’s opening match in Mexico.
The auction will also feature Lionel Messi’s signed Argentina 2022 World Cup jersey and a jersey signed by members of the United States men’s national team.
All proceeds from the auction will benefit the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to improve educational opportunities for children around the world.
The initiative combines football history with a global effort to support education through sport.
