Sudip Chatterjee Targeted by Posters Across North Kolkata After Meeting with Suvendu Adhikari

Cloud TV Desk: Fresh political controversy has erupted in North Kolkata after a series of posters targeting former Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Chatterjee appeared across the area late on Monday night. The posters surfaced shortly after Chatterjee reportedly met Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari at Nabanna, fuelling speculation over the timing and motive behind the campaign.

The posters describe Chatterjee as a “traitor” and a “thief” while also carrying the names of Minister Tapas Roy and TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh under the line “Campaign by”. Both leaders have denied any involvement.

Posters Surface After High-Profile Political Meeting

The anti-Sudip Chatterjee posters were spotted across several parts of North Kolkata, including areas close to his residence, only hours after his meeting with Suvendu Adhikari.

The timing has sparked widespread political speculation, with many questioning whether the development is linked to changing political equations in West Bengal.

Old Political Rivalries Return to the Spotlight

Political observers say the appearance of the posters has revived long-standing tensions involving Sudip Chatterjee, Tapas Roy and Kunal Ghosh.

Differences between the leaders had surfaced during their time in the Trinamool Congress. When Tapas Roy left the party before the previous Lok Sabha election, Kunal Ghosh had publicly blamed the internal situation surrounding Sudip Chatterjee for the development.

The issue had also triggered heated discussions within the North Kolkata unit of the party.

Tapas Roy and Kunal Ghosh Deny Any Role

Following the Assembly election, Sudip Chatterjee joined the NCPI after severing ties with the Trinamool Congress. His recent meeting with Suvendu Adhikari has once again placed him at the centre of political discussions.

However, both Tapas Roy and Kunal Ghosh have categorically denied any connection with the posters despite their names appearing on them. Chatterjee has also remained silent on the controversy.

With no official confirmation regarding the identity of those behind the posters, the incident has intensified political speculation in North Kolkata.
