Cloud TV Desk: A handwritten message found on a Rs 20 currency note inside a temple donation box in Andhra Pradesh has sparked widespread discussion on social media and left temple staff surprised.
The unusual incident occurred at the Subrahmanyeshwara Swamy Temple in Anantapur district. During the routine counting of donations collected from the temple’s hundi (donation box), officials discovered a Rs 20 note carrying a personal message rather than a traditional offering or prayer.
According to reports, the handwritten note read: “Swami, I can no longer bear the harassment from my aunt. Please make sure she dies soon.”
Temple staff were reportedly stunned after reading the message. Donations placed in temple boxes are typically accompanied by prayers seeking blessings, good health, employment opportunities, successful marriages, educational achievements, or family well-being. A request wishing death upon a relative was something entirely unexpected.
Witnesses said officials initially thought it was an ordinary scribble on a currency note. However, after reading the message carefully, they realized it was a direct appeal expressing extreme frustration toward a family member. The discovery quickly became a topic of conversation among devotees and temple workers.
While some people reportedly reacted with amusement, viewing the note as an emotional outburst, others found the message disturbing. Several observers suggested that the note reflected deep personal resentment and highlighted the emotional stress that family conflicts can create.
