Cloud TV Desk: A disturbing case linked to a relationship dispute has emerged from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man died after allegedly jumping from the third floor of his ex-girlfriend’s residence while trying to escape assault and illegal confinement.

The incident took place in Choura Raghunathpur village under Noida Sector 24 police station limits. According to police sources, the victim had gone to meet his former girlfriend, Chanchal Rana, late at night along with a female friend. The purpose of the visit was reportedly to resolve ongoing tensions involving Chanchal’s husband, Hitesh Rana.

Investigators say the victim and Chanchal remained in contact even after her marriage, which allegedly led to frequent disputes within her family. On Wednesday night, another confrontation reportedly broke out between the parties.

Police allege that Chanchal Rana and her husband assaulted both visitors during the argument. Reports claim the victims were beaten with sticks, including a hockey stick, before being locked inside a room on the third floor of the house.

According to the preliminary investigation, the man and the woman attempted to escape fearing further violence. Around 3 am, both allegedly jumped from the third floor of the building.

Locals alerted authorities after hearing loud noises and screams. Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Doctors later declared the man dead, while the injured woman remains under treatment at a Delhi hospital. Her condition is said to be serious.

Initially, police were investigating whether the case involved suicide or accidental death. However, inconsistencies in statements and evidence reportedly prompted a deeper probe. Following questioning, police arrested Chanchal Rana and her husband Hitesh Rana.

Investigators are currently examining CCTV footage, mobile call records and witness statements to reconstruct the sequence of events. Police officials believe personal relationship tensions and emotional conflict may have played a major role in the incident.

The case has sparked widespread discussion in the area, with locals claiming they heard arguments and cries for help from inside the house during the night. Authorities are now waiting for the injured woman’s detailed statement, which is expected to become a crucial part of the investigation.

The incident once again highlights how toxic personal conflicts and violent confrontations can spiral into tragedy within moments.
