Delhi NCR Earthquake
Cloud TV Desk: Strong earthquake tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR and several parts of North India after a 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan on Friday.
Residents in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and nearby areas rushed out of homes and office buildings as the tremors were felt for several seconds. There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage.
According to initial reports, the earthquake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre near Darawan, Afghanistan. Tremors were also reported from Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir and Kargil.
The tremors triggered panic across the National Capital Region, prompting people to evacuate residential and commercial buildings. Authorities are monitoring the situation, although no significant damage has been reported so far.
Officials have advised residents to remain calm and stay alert for any possible aftershocks while following standard earthquake safety protocols.
