Cloud TV Desk: A shocking murder case in South Delhi’s upscale Mount Kailash locality has taken a new turn after investigators revealed that dermatologist Dr. Manish Gupta had recently argued with his wife over dismissing their longtime domestic help, Meena. Police believe the disagreement may provide an important clue in understanding the circumstances leading to the crime.
According to Delhi Police, 45-year-old Meena had worked with the family for nearly 15 years. She was considered a trusted member of the household and also helped care for Dr. Gupta’s elderly mother. Investigators found that there had been discussions within the family about removing her from service, a move that reportedly led to disagreements between the doctor and his wife.
Police said the incident occurred on Thursday morning at the family’s residence in Mount Kailash. Dr. Gupta allegedly assaulted Meena with a cricket bat before attacking her with a knife. Officers responding to the scene found him sitting near the victim’s body. He was subsequently taken into custody and later arrested.
Early reports suggested that the doctor believed the domestic worker was responsible for spreading “negative energy” or practicing black magic. However, police later clarified that there is currently no evidence supporting those claims. Investigators are examining multiple angles, including family disputes, psychological factors, and the accused’s mental condition.
The brutal nature of the killing has shocked residents of the neighborhood. Many neighbors described Meena as a familiar and trusted figure who had been associated with the family for years.
