Cloud TV Desk: A wedding celebration in Bihar’s Saharsa district turned into chaos after a dispute over the food menu escalated into a violent clash between the bride’s and groom’s families, leaving at least 12 people injured. The incident occurred in Simri Bakhtiyarpur, where guests from the groom’s side alleged they had been promised mutton but were instead served chicken during the wedding feast.
According to police, the wedding ceremony was completed peacefully, and the nikah was solemnised without any disruption. Trouble began only after guests gathered for lunch following the ceremony.
Members of the groom’s party claimed they had been assured that mutton would be served as part of the wedding menu. However, when the meal was served, they found chicken instead. The disagreement quickly turned into a heated argument before escalating into a violent brawl involving members from both families.
Videos circulating on social media show chaotic scenes, with individuals attacking each other using sticks while some were seen brandishing swords. The viral footage has attracted widespread attention across social media platforms.
Police rushed to the venue after receiving information about the violence and managed to bring the situation under control. At least a dozen injured people were admitted to the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Simri Bakhtiyarpur for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the viral videos as part of the probe.
