Cloud TV Desk: A major controversy has emerged ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination after a student from Nagpur was reportedly allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi due to what the National Testing Agency (NTA) described as a technical glitch. The incident has sparked concerns about the reliability of the examination process just a day before the crucial medical entrance test.
According to reports, Abdullah Mohammad Talib, a NEET aspirant from Nagpur, downloaded his admit card and was shocked to discover that his examination centre had been assigned to an Indian school in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The student had selected examination cities within Maharashtra during the application process and never opted for an overseas centre.
The issue quickly gained attention after screenshots of the admit card circulated online. Family members said the student does not even possess a passport, making it impossible for him to travel abroad and appear for the examination. The unexpected development reportedly caused significant stress for both the candidate and his family.
Following complaints, NTA acknowledged that the allocation was the result of a technical error. The agency assured the student that a corrected admit card with a proper examination centre would be issued before the re-examination scheduled for June 21. Officials stated that necessary corrective measures were being taken to prevent further inconvenience.
The controversy comes at a time when the NTA is already facing scrutiny over technical issues related to NEET UG 2026. In recent days, candidates have reported difficulties downloading admit cards, server congestion, and other examination-related problems. The agency has repeatedly stated that it is working to resolve all technical challenges ahead of the re-exam.
Education experts say such errors can have a serious psychological impact on students preparing for one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations. The incident has renewed calls for stronger quality control, better technology infrastructure, and more robust verification systems within the examination process.
With the re-examination set to take place on June 21, attention will now be on how effectively the NTA addresses these concerns and restores confidence among lakhs of aspiring medical students.
