Madhyamik Result 2026 topper
Cloud TV Desk: The results of the West Bengal Madhyamik Examination 2026 were officially announced on Friday by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. This year, Abhirup Bhadra from North Dinajpur secured the first rank in the state (Madhyamik Result 2026 topper) , while Priyatosh Mukhopadhyay from Birbhum achieved the second position.
The Madhyamik examinations began on February 2 and concluded on February 12 this year. Nearly 9 lakh students appeared for the examination across West Bengal. According to the board, a total of 131 students secured positions within the top ten merit ranks.
Abhirup Bhadra, a student of Raiganj Sarada Vidyamandir in North Dinajpur, scored an impressive 698 marks to become the state topper. The second rank was secured by Priyatosh Mukhopadhyay from Sarojinidevi Shishumandir in Birbhum, who scored 696 marks.
The third position went to Soura Jana from Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission in South 24 Parganas with 695 marks. Another student with the same marks secured the fourth rank.
District-wise performance also drew significant attention this year. Kalimpong recorded the highest pass percentage in the state at 95.10 percent. Purba Medinipur followed closely with a pass percentage of 94.82 percent.
Education experts observed that students from North Bengal performed exceptionally well this year. They also noted that the gap in academic performance between urban and rural schools appears to have narrowed significantly.
Following the announcement of the results, celebrations broke out in several schools and homes across the state. Teachers, relatives and neighbors gathered to congratulate successful students, while social media was flooded with messages of appreciation and encouragement.
The board stated that students can access their results online and collect their official marksheets and certificates from their respective schools. Many parents and educators also praised the board for releasing the results efficiently and within a short period after the examinations.
