Tata Motors Stellantis Partnership
Cloud TV Desk: Tata Motors and global automotive giant Stellantis are reportedly close to finalising a strategic partnership that could reshape India’s automotive sector.
According to reports, the two companies have been discussing collaboration in manufacturing, engineering, technology sharing, and supply chain operations following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this year.
The proposed partnership aims to strengthen cooperation in vehicle production, engineering capabilities, and supply chain efficiency.
Industry experts believe such a collaboration could help both companies reduce costs, accelerate product development, and improve competitiveness in the rapidly evolving automotive market.
The discussions come as Tata Motors accelerates its electric vehicle ambitions.
The company has already confirmed that its upcoming premium EV, Avinya, will be built on the Freelander platform developed through Jaguar Land Rover technologies. Analysts believe a partnership with Stellantis could further strengthen Tata Motors’ EV ecosystem and global technology access.
Following media reports, Tata Motors clarified in a stock exchange filing that discussions are ongoing but no definitive agreement has been signed.
The company added that it will make the necessary disclosures if any material development takes place in accordance with regulatory requirements.
If completed, the partnership could become one of the most significant collaborations in India’s automotive industry, particularly as manufacturers race to expand their electric mobility and advanced vehicle technology portfolios.
