Rahul Gandhi Sagar Ratna Moets lunch
Lunches by Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and other INDIA bloc MPs and leaders at Sagar Ratna and Moets in Delhi have drawn widespread attention on social media. The meals took place while the leaders continued their protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The leaders had lunch at Sagar Ratna in Janpath on Wednesday. Rahul Gandhi reportedly ate paneer butter masala and half a roti, while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra opted for ice cream. Rahul Gandhi chose a table in the middle area of the restaurant.
Sagar Ratna can comfortably seat around 150 to 180 people. A staff member described Rahul Gandhi’s meal by saying, “Bas aadhi roti hi khaai unhone.”
On Thursday, the group visited Moets’ newly opened branch in Connaught Place. The outlet was described as barely 15 days old. Nearly 100 political leaders attended the lunch, occupying both floors of the restaurant. Police personnel were deployed in the area.
The group chose a vegetarian party package instead of ordering à la carte. The package was priced at around Rs 1,299 per person, plus taxes. The MPs spent more than two to three hours at the restaurant. Moets staff said the guests “really liked” the food.
The Congress social-media account shared a video showing Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders entering Moets. The post shown in the source is dated October 8, 2026.
A Moets staff member said footfall increased after the lunch. A man outside the restaurant was heard asking, “Kal Rahul Gandhi yahi aaya tha na?” The Moets visit took place ahead of the stated October 10 protest.
