Trinayani Durga Puja 2026
Trinayani, which began as a small Durga Puja initiative led by a handful of friends and families, has grown into one of the prominent Bengali community celebrations in New Jersey. As the organisation enters its fifth year, it is preparing a special experience for the Bengali diaspora with the theme ‘Dream City Paris’.
The two-day Durga Puja celebration will take place on October 17 and 18 in Plainsboro, New Jersey. This year’s programme promises creative decorations, cultural performances, food and opportunities for families and friends to come together.
The highlight of Trinayani’s fifth-year celebration will be a themed presentation inspired by the architecture and artistic heritage of Paris. Visitors can expect representations of iconic landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles and Montmartre.
The most distinctive feature will be the setting for the Durga idol. The organisers plan to create an environment inspired by the courtyard of the world-famous Louvre Museum.
Through this concept, Trinayani aims to bring together the artistic charm of Paris and the emotional significance of Durga Puja. Members of the community, young and old, are working together to turn the vision into reality.
The preparations reflect the collective effort that has helped the celebration grow over the past five years. The organisers hope the Paris-inspired setting will offer visitors an immersive experience while preserving the traditions of Bengali autumn festivities.
Music will be another major attraction at this year’s celebration. Popular Bengali band Chandrabindoo is set to bring a sense of nostalgia to the festivities, connecting audiences with familiar songs and the cultural memories of Bengal.
The programme will also feature Bombay Vikings, adding another musical dimension to the two-day event.
Beyond the performances, visitors can look forward to elaborate decorations, food and the opportunity to celebrate with friends, relatives and members of the Bengali community. For many expatriate Bengalis, Durga Puja is not only a religious occasion but also an important way to stay connected with their language, culture and traditions.
What began as a modest initiative has developed into a recognised Durga Puja gathering in New Jersey. Trinayani has sought to distinguish itself through new themes, imaginative decorations and lively cultural programmes each year.
According to the organisers, the enthusiasm and affection of the community have played a central role in the celebration’s growth. They say interest in the event continues to encourage more people to participate.
The fifth-year edition brings together several elements: the visual appeal of Paris, the devotion associated with Durga Puja, Chandrabindoo’s musical nostalgia and the entertainment promised by Bombay Vikings.
With preparations underway for October 17 and 18, the organisers are looking to make this year’s celebration especially memorable. The combination of an ambitious theme and a varied cultural programme is expected to make Trinayani’s fifth Durga Puja a notable event for the Bengali community in New Jersey.
