Tensions across the Middle East have intensified amid renewed fighting involving Saudi Arabia and Iran-aligned Houthi forces, while reports have emerged about Iran’s military preparedness.

Several reports say Iran has placed its military and security forces on a so-called “Code 100” alert, described as the country’s highest level of military readiness.

However, Iranian authorities have not publicly confirmed that the Code 100 alert has been activated. Its exact scope and operational status therefore remain unclear.

What Is Iran’s ‘Code 100’ Alert?

Reports from Moneycontrol and other outlets describe “Code 100” as the highest level of military preparedness for Iran’s armed and security forces.

If the reported alert has indeed been activated, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, regular armed forces and security agencies could be placed on heightened readiness for a possible military escalation.

Iran has not publicly released an official definition of the code or confirmed the specific measures reportedly associated with it. As a result, detailed descriptions circulating in media reports should be treated cautiously.

The reports come as tensions between Iran and the United States remain high. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has separately warned that its weapons, military tactics and targets could change if the conflict escalates.

Saudi-Houthi Fighting Adds to Regional Tensions

The conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran-aligned Houthi forces has intensified in recent days. The Houthis have claimed missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia, while Saudi authorities have said they intercepted a ballistic missile targeting Riyadh.

Fighting has also intensified inside Yemen. According to the Associated Press, the World Health Organization reported 164 deaths and 516 injuries between September 13 and 18. The International Organization for Migration said about 129,438 people had been displaced across seven provinces.

The United States has also issued security warnings through diplomatic missions across the region. The alerts cited the possibility of unforeseen escalation, flight cancellations, airspace closures and other disruptions.

Trump Warns Iran as Tehran Signals Retaliation

The reports about Iran’s military readiness have emerged alongside strong statements from US President Donald Trump.

Trump has said he is considering multiple options regarding Iran, including military action, economic pressure and a potential deal. His remarks were reported by Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst.

Iranian military authorities, meanwhile, have warned that any new US attack could trigger retaliation against American bases and interests in the region. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has also said it could change its weapons, military tactics and targets if the conflict escalates.

Security concerns have also emerged around the Strait of Hormuz. British military authorities said an unknown projectile struck a tanker entering the strategic waterway on Monday, injuring two crew members.

For now, the reported “Code 100” alert has added to concerns about a wider escalation in the Middle East. But without official confirmation from Tehran, the precise status and scope of the reported alert remain uncertain.
